He, may God have mercy on him, said about the Book of the Arts: This book consists of two hundred volumes.
الْكِتَابُ — the book. A definite noun with al- ('the'), the subject the quotation comments on, paired with the demonstrative before it as 'this book'. It stands in the nominative as the topic of a verbless 'this book is...' statement. The following count is its predicate.
