How to say “breast” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
ودر عليه ثديها؛
Her breast provided for him;
ثَدْيُهَا — Her breast. This noun carries an attached 'her' and is the delayed subject of 'flowed', so it stands in the subject form: her breast is what did the flowing. The fused 'her' points back to the foster mother.
From: Raised in the Prophet’s Household →فَقَالَتِ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلِ ابْنِي مِثْلَهُ فَتَرَكَ ثَدْيَهَا،
She said, "O Allah, make my son like him." Then he left her breast,
ثَدْيَهَا — her breast. What the baby let go of -- her breast -- the object of 'left', with '-ha' (her) attached pointing to the mother. The suffix ties the object to her, and the noun's ending marks it as the thing released.
