Arabic vocabulary
How to say “came” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
انطلق رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأصحابه حتى سبقوا المشركين إلى بدر وجاء المشركون،
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions set out until they reached Badr before the polytheists, and the polytheists came.
وَجَاءَ — and the polytheists came. This is wa- (and) on a past-tense verb, 'and came', with the subject built in, opening a new clause. The doer is named next, the verb leading its subject in normal order; this shifts the scene to the opponents' arrival.
