How to say “carcass” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنت مَشْغُول بالجيف
Yet you are occupied with carcasses.
بِالْجِيَفِ — with carcasses. 'Bi-' (with) fused with a broken plural 'carrion / carcasses', genitive — 'with rotting carcasses'. The 'bi-' marks what occupies you: worldly filth.
From: Overcoming Desire →حتى يصير شيخًا مهينا، ثم يصير إلى الموت، فيصير جيفة منتنة
until he becomes a feeble old man, then he reaches death, becoming a decayed corpse.
جِيفَةً — a corpse. The complement of 'becomes', with a bare indefinite ending: 'a carcass'. It names the last state in the sequence and takes the form such becoming-verbs require.
From: A Path to Mercy →OpenArabic teaches words like جِيفَةٌ through real bilingual reading with native audio and spaced-repetition practice.
