How to say “disposition” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَيْسَ كَذَٰلِكَ؛ لِأَنَّ مِثْلُ الطَّبْعِ فِي مَيْلِهِ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا كَالْمَاءِ الْجَارِيِ،
But that is not so; for the disposition, in its inclination toward the world, is like flowing water,
الطَّبْعِ — the disposition. The owned half of 'the case OF the disposition', made definite by al- and standing in the genitive as the possessor. Placed directly after the head-noun with no word for 'of', it both completes the phrase and fixes its definiteness.
