Arabic vocabulary
وَتَحْرِيفًا is how you say “distortion” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
يَصُدُّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغِيهَا جُهْدُهُ عَوْجًا وَتَحْرِيفًا
He turns people away from the way of God and, by his effort, seeks to bend and distort it.
وَتَحْرِيفًا — and distortion. Two pieces: wa- ('and') coordinates with the manner-noun before it, and the noun is itself accusative, another adverbial of manner, 'distortion'. So it adds a second 'how', pairing 'crookedly and with distortion' as the way he works.
