Arabic vocabulary
How to say “seeks” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَصُدُّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغِيهَا جُهْدُهُ عَوْجًا وَتَحْرِيفًا
He turns people away from the way of God and, by his effort, seeks to bend and distort it.
وَيَبْغِيهَا — and seeks it. Two pieces: wa- ('and') coordinates a second verb with the first, and the present-tense verb carries -ha ('it') as its object on the end. The attached pronoun points back to the way of God, so he 'seeks it', the object riding on the verb.
