Arabic vocabulary
How to say “in a crooked way” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَصُدُّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغِيهَا جُهْدُهُ عَوْجًا وَتَحْرِيفًا
He turns people away from the way of God and, by his effort, seeks to bend and distort it.
عَوْجًا — in a crooked way. An indefinite noun in the accusative working as an adverbial of manner, 'crookedly'. The accusative is Arabic's way of turning a noun into a 'how' description, so it tells you in what manner he seeks to bend the path.
