لِيَقْتَدِيَ — so that he may emulate. A preposition 'so that / in order to' fused to a present-tense verb pushed into its subjunctive ending, 'so that he may emulate'. The little 'so that' is the trigger that reshapes the verb to mark purpose rather than plain fact.
