Arabic vocabulary
How to say “gardens of them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ كَانَتْ لَا تَنْقَطِعُ عَنْهُمْ جُنَّتُهُمْ شِتَاءً وَلَا صَيْفًا
He said, their gardens never failed them, neither in winter nor in summer.
جُنَّتُهُمْ — gardens of them. A feminine noun with a 'their' suffix on the end, holding both 'gardens' and its owners in one word. It is the subject of the never-ceasing verb, which is why that verb wears its feminine ending. The 'their' reaches back to the people, fixing the gardens as theirs.
