How to say “gullible ones” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْمَغْفِلِينَ وَالْمُتَمَاجِنِينَ وَالظُّرَافِ
and the gullible, the banterers, and the witty ones.
وَالْمَغْفِلِينَ — and the gullible. This attaches a list 'and' to a sound plural — pluralized by an added ending — continuing the catalogue with 'the gullible'. It keeps the after-possessor case shared by the listed groups, simply stringing one more item on.
From: Sermons, Wit, and Sorrow →فَإِنْ قَالَ قَائِلٌ ذِكْرُ حِكَايَاتِ الْحُمْقَىٰ وَالْمَغْفِلِينَ يُوجِبُ الضَّحْكَ،
If someone says: telling the stories of fools and the gullible causes laughter,
وَالْمَغْفِلِينَ — and the gullible. Front wa- is the joiner 'and', adding a second owner-group parallel to 'the fools'. The al- makes it definite, 'the' gullible, so the chain reads 'stories of the fools and the gullible', the two linked by wa- in the same owned-by slot.
