  أَثْبَتَهُ — he affirmed it. A past-tense verb 'affirmed it' with built-in 'he' subject and an attached '-it' pointing to the 'what' just introduced. It completes the mirror clause, 'what he had affirmed'. The suffix is the object pronoun carried on the verb.
