How to say “his mare” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَدَعَا عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَارْتَطَمَتْ بِهِ فَرَسُهُ إِلَى بَطْنِهَا
Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed against him, and his mare struck him in the belly.
فَرَسُهُ — his mare. A noun carrying an attached 'his' that owns it; the owner is the man cursed in the prayer, not the nearest noun. Tracking who that 'his' points back to is part of reading the line, since Arabic lets the suffix reach back across the sentence.
