Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his striving” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَا شِدَّةَ الْحَسْرَةِ عِنْدَمَا يُعَايِنُ الْمُبْطِلُ سَعْيَهُ وَكَدَّهُ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا،
O, what intense regret when the one whose efforts are nullified witnesses his striving and his toil scattered like dust.
سَعْيَهُ — his striving. A noun with -hu ('his') fused on as owner, and the direct object of 'sees'; its ending marks that object role. So it is 'his striving' that he witnesses. The 'his' ties the wasted effort back to the deluded one just named.
