How to say “I stayed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَا أَيُّهَا السَّائِلُ عَنْ مَنْزِلِي نَزَلْتُ فِي الْخَانِ عَلَى نَفْسِي،
O questioner who asks about my dwelling, I stayed at the inn by myself.
نَزَلْتُ — I stayed. A past-tense verb whose ending -tu builds in an 'I' subject, so the speaker is named inside the verb. It reports the speaker's own staying, with no separate 'I' word needed before the place phrase.
