How to say “in his outward appearance” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فاسدة كان عمله تابعًا لسريرته لا اعتبار بصورته فتبدو سريرته على وجهه سوادا وظلمة وشينا
His deeds were corrupt, following his inner self; no regard was paid to his outward appearance, so his inner state appeared on his face as blackness, darkness, and ugliness.
بِصُورَتِهِ — in his outward appearance. The bi- here marks the object of the denied regard, what no account is taken 'of', namely the outward appearance. It pulls the following noun into the genitive, and the attached '-his' on that noun names its owner, so the bi-phrase completes 'no regard for his appearance'.
