How to say “regard” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فاسدة كان عمله تابعًا لسريرته لا اعتبار بصورته فتبدو سريرته على وجهه سوادا وظلمة وشينا
His deeds were corrupt, following his inner self; no regard was paid to his outward appearance, so his inner state appeared on his face as blackness, darkness, and ugliness.
اِعْتِبَارَ — regard. A verbal noun, 'regard / consideration', and it is the item being denied existence by the preceding absolute 'no', which is why its ending sits in the accusative that negation governs. So the pairing reads 'there is no regard whatsoever', with the case carrying the force of the denial.
