How to say “to his inner self” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فاسدة كان عمله تابعًا لسريرته لا اعتبار بصورته فتبدو سريرته على وجهه سوادا وظلمة وشينا
His deeds were corrupt, following his inner self; no regard was paid to his outward appearance, so his inner state appeared on his face as blackness, darkness, and ugliness.
لِسَرِيرَتِهِ — to his inner self. The belonging preposition li- joined to a noun carrying '-his', meaning 'to his inner self'. The li- here marks what the deed conforms to, the participle's object, and it draws the noun into the genitive, while the suffix supplies the owner, three jobs in one word.
