الْبَاطِنُ — the Inner. The divine name 'the Inner', made definite by al- ('the'), completing 'I am the Inner'. It is the predicate of a verbless equation, set directly opposite the 'I' with no linking verb between them.

Their inward is like their outward appearance.
باطنونهم — their inward. A noun for the inner self with -hum ('their') fixed to its end, naming whose inside is meant. It stands as the topic of a description that uses no 'is' word: Arabic simply sets this noun first and lets the following comparison serve as its predicate.
