Arabic vocabulary
How to say “later” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَتَى بِهَا عَلَى نَسْقِ الْقِرَاءَةِ لِهَا لَا مُقَدَّمًا وَلَا مُؤَخَّرًا،
And he presented them according to the pattern of their recitation, neither earlier nor later.
مؤخرًا — later. A passive participle 'put-later/delayed' in the object-style case, the second negated item, completing 'neither earlier nor later'. Its passive sense names a way the order was not, and the accusative marks its role as the negated state. It closes the balanced pair.
