Arabic vocabulary
How to say “laziness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وإن شردت وركبت الإعراض والكسل مثلي ، فواحسرتا علي وعليك
And if you stray and embrace neglect and laziness like me, then alas for both you and me,
وَالكَسَلَ — and the laziness. This is the bound wa- 'and' plus al- 'the' plus a noun in the object ending, 'and the laziness', coordinated onto the previous object. The wa- joins it on equal footing, and it copies that object ending as a second thing taken up.
