وإن شردت وركبت الإعراض والكسل مثلي ، فواحسرتا علي وعليك
And if you stray and embrace neglect and laziness like me, then alas for both you and me,
وَرَكِبْتَ — and you ride. This is the bound wa- 'and' plus a past-tense verb 'and you mounted, took up' with the attached -ta 'you'. The wa- coordinates a second condition with the first, both to a single male; the verb governs the objects that follow it.
