Arabic vocabulary
How to say “lower” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِذَا لِقَاءُهُمْ فَأَخْفِضْ لَهُمْ جَنَاحَكَ وَذَلِّلْ لَهُمْ قَلْبَكَ وَلِسَانَكَ
So when you meet them, then lower your wing for them and humble your heart and your tongue toward them.
فَأَخْفِضْ — then lower. This is a command verb, 'lower', with the 'then' connector (fa-) fused to its front. The fa- marks this as the response that follows the 'when' condition, the apodosis of the whenever-frame. So one word both links the result and issues the order.
