Arabic vocabulary
How to say “wing” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِذَا لِقَاءُهُمْ فَأَخْفِضْ لَهُمْ جَنَاحَكَ وَذَلِّلْ لَهُمْ قَلْبَكَ وَلِسَانَكَ
So when you meet them, then lower your wing for them and humble your heart and your tongue toward them.
جَنَاحَكَ — your wing. This noun has -ka, the 'your' (masculine) possessor, fused to its end, so one word means 'your wing'. It is the direct object of the command 'lower', in the object form. The possessor folds the addressee straight into the noun rather than using a separate word.
