Arabic vocabulary
How to say “make even” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فإن قيل فقد قال تعالى ﴿أَيَحْسَبُ الإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ﴾
Then if it is said, Allah, the Exalted, stated: 'Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? Yes, We are able to proportion his fingertips.'
نُسَوِّيَ — proportion. This present-tense verb carries the 'we' subject and sits in its subjunctive form because of the 'that' particle before it. The doubled-middle pattern gives the sense of evening out or perfectly shaping, and the altered ending marks it as governed rather than free-standing.
