عَصَمْنَا اللَّهُ وَإِّيَّاكُمْ مِنْ فِتْنَتِهِ عِصْمَةٌ يُدْخِلُنَا بِهَا فِي رَحْمَتِهِ
May Allah protect us and you from His trials with a protection that brings us by it into His mercy.
عَصَمْنَا — may protect us. A past-tense verb of protecting with a 'us' object fused on its end. Though past in form, it is used here as a prayer-wish, 'may He protect us', a regular Arabic way to phrase a supplication with the perfect tense. Its subject, God, is named just after.
