How to say “mentioning” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ إِنِّي مَعَ رَجُلٍ إِنْ أَكَلَ ذِكْرَ اسْمِ اللَّهِ فَلَا آكُلُ مَعَهُ
He said, "I am with a man; if he eats while mentioning the Name of God, I will not eat with him."
ذِكْرَ — mentioning. A verbal noun naming the act of mentioning itself, and it heads an 'of' pairing with 'name' next. Arabic uses such action-nouns to fold a whole 'while mentioning...' clause into a compact phrase.
