As if it pleased them and they were pleased with it, and this is more expressive than merely being satisfactory.
مُجَرَّدِ — merely. A noun 'mere / sheer' heading a possessive pairing with the verbal noun after it: 'the mere being-X'. It gives up its own article and takes definiteness from the owner; its genitive comes from 'than'.
