How to say “negate” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يَنْتَقِصُ هَذَا بِمَنْ ادَّعَى النُّبُوَّةَ مِنَ الْكَذَّابِينَ، فَإِنَّ حَالَهُمْ كَانَتْ ضِدَّ حَالِ الرَّسُولِ مِنْ كُلِّ وَجْهٍ
Nor is this negated by those who falsely claimed prophethood, for their condition was the exact opposite of the Messenger's in every way.
يَنْتَقِصُ — is negated. This present-tense verb is in a pattern meaning to be diminished or refuted, with its 'it' subject built in. Under the negation before it, the sense is that this is not weakened; the pattern gives 'is undercut'.
