How to say “noble” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَغَدًا الصَّحَابَةُ الْكِرَامُ رِجَالُهُمْ وَنِسَاءُهُمْ يَسْأَلُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
So the next morning the noble Companions, both men and women among them, asked the Messenger of God.
الْكِرَامُ — the noble. Carries al- ('the') and is a describing word for the Companions — 'the noble'. As an adjective it follows its noun and copies its definiteness, which is why it too carries al-. The plural form matches them as a group. It adds an honoring epithet to the named subject.
