Arabic vocabulary
How to say “of travel” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
شَدِيدُ سَوَادِ الشَّعْرِ، لَا يُرَى عَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ السَّفَرِ، وَلَا يَعْرِفُهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ
His hair is intensely black; he shows no sign of travel, and none of us recognizes him.
السَّفَرِ — of travel. The 'the' makes this noun definite, and it owns the preceding 'trace', giving 'sign of the travel'. As the owner in the 'of' pairing it takes the genitive ending.
