Arabic vocabulary
How to say “often” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ رجل لَعنه الله مَا أَكثر مَا يُؤْتِي بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِي
So a man said, 'May Allah curse him; how often he is brought to the Prophet!'
أَكْثَرَ — often. This is a comparative-superlative shape meaning 'more/most', built into the word from the root, and in the exclamation frame it expresses 'how often!'. Its accusative ending is the fixed shape this kind of wondering exclamation takes.
