Arabic vocabulary
How to say “perform the pilgrimage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ، وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ إنْ اسْتَطَعْت إلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا
And give the obligatory charity, fast during Ramadan, and perform the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to find a way to it.
وَتَحُجَّ — and perform the pilgrimage. An 'and'-fronted present verb 'and you make the pilgrimage', the final item kept parallel and in the subjunctive by the same opening particle. The 'you' doer is built in. The 'and' simply files it alongside the earlier duties as one more entry in the list.
