Arabic vocabulary
How to say “pleasure of” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقِيلَ يَعِدُكُمْ الْفَقْرَ فِي الْبَذْلِ وَالْعَطَاءِ فِي مَرْضَاةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
And it was said, poverty leads you to spend and to give in seeking the pleasure of God, Glorified and Exalted.
مَرْضَاةِ — pleasure of. This action-noun is the front term of an 'of' pairing with the divine name after it, so it drops its own article and leans on that name for definiteness: 'the pleasure of God'.
