How to say “praised me” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فقال إذا قال العبد ﴿الحمد لله رب العالمين﴾ قال الله حمدني عبدي، فإذا قال ﴿الرحمن الرحيم﴾ قال أثنى علي عبدي،
He said: When the servant says, "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds," God says, "My servant has praised Me." And when he says, "The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," God says, "My servant has praised Me."
حَمِدَنِي — praised me. A past-tense verb 'praised' with an attached '-me' object on its end, referring to God within the quoted reply. The subject 'my servant' follows as the next word, so the verb carries the object suffix while leaving the doer to come after, and the suffix names whom the praise reached.
