Arabic vocabulary
اِسْتَعانَ is how you say “seek help” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فليستعن العبد بربه، وليسأله التوفيق، وليصبر على تكاليف الشرع، فإن العاقبة له
Let the servant seek assistance from his Lord, ask Him for guidance, and be patient with the duties of the law, for the outcome is in his favor.
لْيَسْتَعِنِ — let him seek assistance. A third-person command, 'let him seek help', made by a command-marker prefixed to the present verb, which clips its ending short. Arabic folds the 'let him' into the verb's shape rather than using a separate word.
