إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ يَضْحَكُ بِهَا جُلَسَاؤُهُ يَهْوِي بِهَا أَبْعَدَ مِنَ الثَّرَيَّا
Indeed, a man speaks a word that makes his companions laugh by it, and by it he sinks farther than the Pleiades.
يَهْوِي — sinks. A present-tense verb with its 'he' subject built into the shape, used figuratively for 'plunges / falls'. The doer is the man, named inside the verb, and the verb supplies the falling action the rest of the clause measures.
