من الَّذِي ضاجعه بعد الْمَوْت فِي ترابه
Who was the one who lay beside him after death in his grave?
تُرَابِهِ — his grave. 'Dust / earth' with '-hi' (his) attached, genitive after 'in' — his burial earth. Buried in the Prophet's own grave-soil.

And the second, which is more likely, is that restoring his fingertips refers to making them as they were after decay had dispersed them in the dust.
التُّرَابِ — the dust. This noun carries 'the', making it definite, and is governed by the preposition before it, hence its prepositional ending. It names the earth or dust as the location, definite because a known, specific thing is meant.
