Arabic vocabulary
How to say “someone else” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَالَ يَقُولُ اللهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا أَشْرَكَ مَعِي فِيهِ غَيْرِي فَهُوَ لِلَّذِي أَشْرَكَ وَأَنَا مِنْهُ بَرِيءٌ
And he said: 'Allah says: Whoever does a deed in which he associates someone else with Me, it is for the one he associated, and I am free from it.'
غَيْرِي — someone else. A noun meaning 'other than (Me)' with an attached 'my' on its end. It names the wrongly-associated party and serves as the object of 'associates', so one word says 'someone other than Me'.
