How to say “sworn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ سُبْحَانَهُ الْمُقْسَمَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ ﴿إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ﴾
Then He, Glory be to Him, mentioned what was sworn upon and said, 'Indeed, it is the word of a noble Messenger.'
الْمُقْسَمَ — the sworn upon. A passive participle 'the sworn-upon', the object of 'mentioned' in the accusative object ending with its own 'the'. The passive sense is that it is the thing an oath was made about, not something that does anything.
