Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the eating” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَنَّ الَّذِيَ دَلَّ حَوَّاءَ عَلَى الْأَكْلِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ هِيَ الْحَيَّةُ،
That the serpent was the one who led Eve to eat from the tree.
الْأَكْلِ — the eating. An action-noun 'the eating', the object of 'to', hence genitive after that relator. With 'al-' it names the specific act Eve was led toward; a 'from the tree' phrase will specify it further.
