Arabic vocabulary
How to say “their neediness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِفْتِقَارَهُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَيَسْتَعِينُونَ بِهَا عَلَى أَهْوِيَتِهِمْ وَأَذْوَاقِهِمْ
And their neediness toward Him, and they seek help through it for their desires and tastes.
وَإِفْتِقَارَهُمْ — and their neediness. This token fronts a wa- 'and' on a verbal noun (an action turned into a noun) that carries a 'their' pronoun, meaning 'and their neediness'. The wa- coordinates it with the prior object; the action-noun lets a whole 'being needy' idea function as a thing. The attached pronoun marks whose neediness.
