Arabic vocabulary
How to say “throats” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وقراءته مَعَ قارئتهم يقرءُون الْقُرْآن لَا يُجَاوز حَنَاجِرهمْ
And his recitation compared to their recitation; they recite the Quran, but it does not go beyond their throats.
حَنَاجِرَهُمْ — their throats. This noun pairs with the attached 'their' as its owner, 'their throats', and its ending marks it as the object of the passing verb, the limit not crossed. The pronoun points to the reciters, the image being that the words stop at the throat.
