  And a man whom Allah made wealthy and to whom He gave all kinds of wealth. He will be brought, and Allah will make him recognize His blessings, and he will recognize them. He will say: 'What did you do with them?'

  وَسَّعَ — made affluent. This is a past-tense verb in the intensive (doubled-middle) pattern, the shape Arabic uses to make a plain root mean 'cause to be much/wide'. The plain root carries the idea of being spacious, and this heavier form turns it into 'made spacious for him', i.e. gave abundance. The doubling of the middle consonant is the grammatical engine here: it builds the 'cause/make' sense right into the word instead of needing a helper verb.
