For these three who seek show and reputation are the counterparts of the three who come after the prophets: the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
الصِّدِّيقِينَ — the truthfully sincere ones. A sound masculine plural in the genitive, the first rank named — the deeply truthful. The intensive form marks not mere honesty but a settled habit of truthfulness.

For whoever learns the knowledge sent by God through His messengers and teaches it for the sake of God is a sincere one,
صِدِّيقًا — a sincere one. The predicate of 'was', in the accusative (the tanwin) as this 'to be' requires, indefinite — he counts as 'a truthful one'. The accusative ending is the grammatical sign that this names what he became.
