How to say “Truthful One” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
بَلْ قِيلَ لِلصِّدِّيقِ وَقَدْ تَلَا آيَةً هَذَا كَلَامُكَ وَكَلَامُ صَاحِبِكَ؟
Rather, it was said to the Truthful One as he recited a verse: 'Is this your word and the word of your companion?'
لِلصِّدِّيقِ — to the Truthful One. This stacks a 'to/for' prefix, the definite 'the', and a title noun (the Truthful One, a name for Abu Bakr). The prefix marks him as the one addressed, and the form he takes is the one a preposition governs. So the single word means 'to the Truthful One'.
