Arabic vocabulary
جَلِيلٌ is how you say “weighty” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَهُوَ بَعْدَ هَذَا وَاللَّهِ لَهُ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ وَخَطَرٌ جَلِيلٌ
And after this, by God, for him is a great report and a weighty, grave matter.
جَلِيلٌ — weighty. A describing word following its noun, marking that matter as solemn and weighty. Like other Arabic adjectives it trails the noun and matches its indefinite, subject-form ending, so it agrees with the 'matter' before it.
