  And what excuse will the one who casts the two revelations behind his back have on a day when excuses will not benefit the wrongdoers?

  تَنْفَعُ — will benefit. A present-tense verb, 'benefits / avails', whose subject, 'the excuses', comes later in the clause. It carries the verb's normal present shape and, under the negation before it, states that nothing the wrongdoers offer will do them any good. The subject is delayed in Arabic's verb-first order.
