Arabic vocabulary
How to say “you disobeyed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهُوَ أَنَّكَ لَا تَخْلُو أَنْ تَكُونَ عَصَيْتَ اللَّهَ فِي عُمْرِكَ، أَوْ أَطَعْتَهُ،
And it is that you are not free from either having disobeyed God in your life, or having obeyed Him,
عَصَيْتَ — you disobeyed. A past-tense verb with the suffix '-ta' marking a 'you' (masculine) doer, so 'you disobeyed' is one word. It is the first of the two alternatives the sentence weighs, and the direct object of the disobedience comes next.
