Arabic vocabulary
How to say “you obeyed him” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهُوَ أَنَّكَ لَا تَخْلُو أَنْ تَكُونَ عَصَيْتَ اللَّهَ فِي عُمْرِكَ، أَوْ أَطَعْتَهُ،
And it is that you are not free from either having disobeyed God in your life, or having obeyed Him,
أَطَعْتَهُ — you obeyed him. A past-tense verb with the '-ta' ending for a 'you' doer AND the suffix '-hu' ('him') fused on as object, so a whole clause 'you obeyed him' is one word. It is the second of the two weighed alternatives, with both subject and object attached to the verb.
